this pistol known as the derringer was a muzzle loading percussion single shot gun made in 1825 the derringer in its different styles and types over the years has become most popular as a self protection side arm as well as it has figured in many notable homicides the most famous being the assassination of president ABRAHAM LINCOLN by JOHN WILKES BOOTH

this pistol here is styled on the percussion type of 1825
it has no moving parts and can not ever be made to fire any thing
it was originally made for a short film on channel 4 in the uk as a prop a some years back
